Advanced Defensive Shotgun

Our advanced class will have you moving and shooting, running scenarios, and reloading under pressure to let you know what your shotgun, and you, are capable of. The total cost for this class is $350.00. Click here to register.

In our sixteen hour class you will learn:

  • Target Discrimination
  • Engaging Multiple Targets
  • Shooting Over, Around, & Through Cover
  • Shooting & Moving
  • Speed Reloading
  • Clearing Malfunctions
  • Shooting From Non-Standard Positions

And more!

Students will be required to bring the following to class:

  • Cased, UNLOADED pump or semiautomatic shotgun*
  • 50 (fifty) rounds of OO buckshot
  • 150 (fifty) rounds of 6, 7, 8, or 9 shot
  • 40 rifled slugs
  • Hearing protection, either earplugs or earmuff style
  • Ballistic eyewear (Inexpensive and can be found at sporting goods counters)
  • Baseball cap or hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather. (Range is outdoors, and we shoot regardless of weather, safety permitting.

*Shotgun MUST have a fixed or folding stock – NO pistol grip only guns will be allowed.
Kneepads are strongly encouraged.

Course Prerequisite: Our Basic Defensive Shotgun course or completion of a verifiable military, law enforcement, or other comparable training course, concealed weapon permit, LE credentials, or military ID card. (We don’t train bad guys, and we don’t apologize for this policy.)

This is NOT a beginner level course.

Need a different class date? Have a special need? We may be able to accommodate you. If you have anywhere from eight to twelve students interested in a class, schedules permitting, we can travel to homes or different ranges and conduct courses on dates convenient for you. Any person who has any form of legal impediment from owning, possessing, or being around firearms is not allowed to take part in the class or be present on the range. This includes anyone whose convictions are included in The Lautenberg Amendment, which states:
GUN BAN FOR INDIVIDUALS CONVICTED OF A MISDEMEANOR CRIME OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE — 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9) Which states: Qualifying Offenses: As enacted the statute defines “misdemeanor crime of domestic violence” (MCDV) as any state or federal misdemeanor that –
“has, as an element, the use or attempted use of physical force, or the threatened use of a deadly weapon, committed by a current or former spouse, parent, or guardian of the victim, by a person with whom the victim shares a child in common, by a person who is cohabiting with or has cohabited with the victim as a spouse, parent, or guardian, or by a person similarly situated to a spouse, parent, or guardian of the victim.”
